Madrid’s Townhall Plan Especial de Hospedaje (PEH) enters into force
On April 23, the Special Plan for the Regulation of the Use of Tertiary Services of Accommodation (PEH), approved by the Madrid City Council, was published and entered into force in the Official Gazette of Madrid with the goal to preserve residential use in the central areas of the city, by means of a new regulation of compatible and authorizable uses, limiting the expulsion of permanent residential use and its replacement by the use of tertiary services intended to provide temporary accommodation.
Like the PEUAT in Barcelona, the PEH aims to ensure that the tourist accommodation offer is distributed throughout the entire territory of the municipality by introducing restrictions on the implementation of this type of use.
